The number 13 has long been considered unlucky in many cultures. One theory stems from the Last Supper, where 13 guests were present, including Judas, who would betray Jesus. With the crucifixion said to have taken place on a Friday, it’s no surprise these two elements combined into one ominous date.

But that’s not all.
In The Da Vinci Code, author Dan Brown suggests that Friday, October 13, 1307 was the day the Knights Templar were rounded up by the King of France an event that led to torture, executions, and centuries of superstition.

Throw in a string of horror films, pop culture references, and every elevator skipping the 13th floor… and you've got a date that practically begs to be celebrated.
