Returns and Exchanges

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING ONLINE OR PURCHASING ITEMS IN-STORE.

Returns Policy for Online Purchases:

If for some reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us as early as possible after receipt of your item (must be within 10 days of delivery) and we will work with you to determine the best solution.  To contact us about a return or exchange, simply login to your account on https://thecostumeshoppe.com, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. Note a ‘Return Authorization’ sent by us is required to confirm an authorized return. If you do not receive one within 48 hours via email, please call us regarding your return request at 1.888.236.5459. Or, call us at 1-888-236-5459 to process a return request over the phone.

You may return most new, unopened, unworn items within 10 days of delivery for exchange, credit or refund of the purchase price. Items must be returned in their original packaging. Shipping cost will not be refunded unless the return is initiated due to our error. Please note that items returned do not become our responsibility until received by us. We recommend that the goods are returned by a recorded delivery service (with a tracking number). Please note, we do NOT accept COD packages.

Please note that discrepancies in styles, colours, sizing specifications (shown online & on packaging), and certain details or changes in the appearance of costumes and accessories, pictured on our website or product packaging, are subject to change without notice due to the manufacturers processes. These discrepancies are beyond the control of The Costume Shoppe, and as a retailer, we are not always notified of these changes. However, we apologize for any inconvenience they may cause. If possible, we will reflect any changes in the images or descriptions on our website as soon as we become aware of them.  We appreciate your understanding with this issue. If you are uncertain of the quality or details of a specific costume or accessory, please feel free to call us at 403.571.2466, and we will be more than happy to offer help in any way that we can in providing more information.  

Orders that Received Free Shipping:

Items returned, that had qualified for free shipping will be refunded the item price less the actual original shipping cost (unless the order still qualifies for free shipping, i.e. the subtotal is still over $85.00, after the return items have been removed from the order).

Refunds:

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

Return or Exchange In-Store:

Are you in Calgary? You are welcome to bring your item back for in-store credit or to exchange your purchase for something else at our Calgary location within 5 days of purchase.  Items must be unworn/washed, with the original packaging and original receipt.

Sale or discounted items as well as intimate apparel items (such as wigs, corsets, panties, boy-shorts, leggings, hosiery, onesies, make-up/makeup supplies, etc) as well as all Morphsuits/morphsuit masks and "2nd Skin" Costumes are FINAL SALE and are not eligible for exchange or credit.

Absolutely NO returns or exchanges of used or worn items.

Restocking Fee: Any items that are receiving store credit or are exchanged may incur a 10% re-stocking fee.
