Known affectionately as Chewie, Chewbacca has been a smuggler, a warrior for the Wookiee defenders on Kashyyyk, a resistance fighter and ultimate a military leader for his people. With a deafening roar, Chewie has aided and supported his friend Han Solo through a hundred scrapes, more than either of them can count.
The Chewbacca costume features a jumpsuit made of soft felt cloth, designed throughout to give the impression of Chewie’s multi-colored fur patches and splotches, from bright orange to dark grey. Sewn into the jumpsuit is Chewie’s combat belt and shoulder bandolier, presenting designs of the wookie’s weapons and pouches. Matching fur hand covers and foot covers fit in place with elasticized straps, while a mask representing Chewbacca’s younger face from the 2018 Han Solo film shows him with goggles.
